“The power in negotiations is knowing how to walk away,
the skill is never having to.”
If you’re like most people, buying a home is the biggest investment you will ever make. So whether you’re buying a starter home, your dream home or an investment property, why not take advantage of my experience as a local market expert to make sure you buy your home for the best possible price? I am here to help you make the most informed decisions, and be there every step of the way.
One of my specialties is representing the best interests of buyers throughout the home buying process by educating them every step of the way, thus making the process more enjoyable and less stressful. The first thing my clients receive during our initial consultation is a comprehensive 30 page buyer’s guide that walks them through the buying process in great detail, allowing them to familiarize themselves with all the phases, from pre-approval to closing, and know what to expect.
When working with buyers, I bring commitment and expertise to the job and unlimited enthusiasm in helping my clients discover the beauty and nuances of my beloved Marin County. I take tremendous care in understanding my buyers’ needs and carefully matching them first to the right Marin community and neighborhood based on its schools, commute profile, demographics and psychographics (interests, activities and lifestyles) and second to the right property using both my professional expertise and personal knowledge.
And most important in today’s market, I help my clients craft the right strategy to win in multiple offer scenarios.
What makes me different and how it benefits you:
1. An educated buyer knows what to expect and makes better decisions.
I believe the most important part of my job is to educate my clients about:
- The buying process;
- Securing the best financing and locking the lowest interest rate;
- Current market trends;
- The escrow process; and last but not least
- The contracts they sign.
2. An educated agent is better equipped to help you navigate today’s challenging real estate market:
I am among the less than 2% of all real estate agents who pursue additional high level education to keep up with best industry practices, learn about more advanced real estate concepts and technology in order to best serve their clients. I have earned my GRI designation, my e-PRO designation, my SRES designation and my ASP Designation. I keep apprised of market trends in Marin County and the Bay Area and write my own, detailed market analysis every month.
3. Having a seasoned negotiator represent you is essential to get the best possible price and terms.
Negotiating is an art form that can only be mastered and fine tuned through studying, practice and experience. I have had a lot of training with the most respected coaches in the industry to sharpen my negotiating skills and am a member of the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School and Executive Leadership. I am a skilled and tenacious, yet calm and non-confrontational, negotiator based on many years of experience and tough negotiations: I persevere and don’t let go until I have secured the best possible terms for you. I strongly believe that to be an effective negotiator you need to understand why the other side wants something and who has the most leverage. You need a strategy, plan and tactics: the key is to always be prepared–research the relevant issues, options and alternatives–, keep it light and be prepared to walk away.
I am a staunch believer that the best outcome in any transaction is a win-win. While I am a very tenacious negotiator, I always adopt a non confrontational approach, and I encourage collaboration with the other agent from the start to reduce stress, emphasizing that all parties involved have an interest in collaborating on a solution.
5. Having an agent representing only the buyer is always in the buyer’s best interest:
It is my policy never to represent both the buyer and the seller on the same transaction. It is only by doing so that conflicts of interest are avoided and the best possible price and terms can be negotiated for the buyer.
I will help you unlock the doors of the most distinctive and desirable homes in Marin County, whether you are looking for a luxury view estate on the water or a simple cottage tucked among redwoods. With years of experience catering to savvy and sophisticated buyers, I have become a specialist in making Marin County real estate dreams come true and I would love to make yours a reality.
